Open to filmmakers of all ages, our festival highlights compelling themes, animation, live-action narratives, documentaries, and innovative perspectives. If your film reflects the imagination, experiences, or artistic expression of children and teens, this is its home.

We believe in the power of storytelling—its ability to spark curiosity, inspire change, and bring people together. That’s why we intentionally offer 60 diverse categories to ensure there is space for every type of storyteller. Whether your film is animated, live-action, documentary, experimental, or something entirely unique, there’s a place for it at Bright Minds. Our goal is to welcome storytellers of all backgrounds, providing an opportunity to showcase their vision and be recognized.

Each month, we celebrate films that capture the essence of youth-driven storytelling. Selected films earn Bright Minds laurels, certificates, and recognition through our monthly showcases. Winners then advance to our Grand Film Festival, where standout projects are honored—with cash prizes awarded to the most exceptional works.

A portion of every submission fee supports the Bright Minds Filmmaker Grant, providing funding for young creators pursuing their storytelling journey. These scholarship funds accumulate throughout the year, with recipients announced at the end-of-year festival, helping to shape the future of filmmaking.
